Here’s a catchall of the sense and sensibility of my magazine work. Everything I’ve pursued throughout my career has been influenced by my early days as a magazine editor swimming in the rich concepts of variety, depth of content, candor, delight, and surprise—capturing the soul of a place and its people in words and images to create engagement or to deepen it. Among my spirit guides in this particular lane are the greats Paul Fussell (“thou shalt not bore”) and Saul Bellow (“the moral power of the justified right margin,” to the distress of every art director I’ve collaborated with).
